Wrist protocol, Compex before surgery
Electrostimulation strengthens the muscles before surgery to limit muscle loss and support recovery. This is the wrist preparation protocol KOLDE hands over with every Compex rental in Dubai, written out phase by phase.
The protocol, phase by phase
-
Week 1

- Program Amyotrophy
- Session 20 to 30 min, 1 to 2 times a day
- Intensity Maximum tolerated
-
Week 2 onwards
Strengthening
- Program Strengthening
- Session 24 min, 3 to 4 times a day

Electrode placement
Clean, dry skin. Place the electrodes on the belly of the target muscle (forearm, flexors, extensors), positive pole on the motor point. Check good contact before every session.
Best practices
Increase the intensity gradually to a firm, comfortable contraction. Stay hydrated and pair the sessions with the prescribed rehabilitation. Always run the Compex® session before the cryotherapy session.
Precautions. Contraindicated with a pacemaker, thrombosis, pregnancy or open wound without medical advice.
