Your Compex at home: the practical guide

What you receive

The device is a Compex SP 8.0 wireless, delivered in its simplest version. It all fits in one bag.

  • The controller. The screen you use to select the programme, start the session and set the intensity. It talks to the modules over Bluetooth.
  • The four wireless modules. They clip straight onto the electrodes. There is no cable between you and the controller.
  • The electrodes. You receive large electrodes.
  • The charging case. It recharges the controller and the modules between sessions.
  • The bag. To store the set and carry it.

On delivery day

A member of the team comes to your home at the time agreed when you booked. Allow twenty to thirty minutes.

We unpack the set with you, we show you where to place the electrodes for the area to be treated, and we run a first session together. You see how to select the programme, how to raise the intensity and where to stop. You ask everything you want to ask.

The protocols can be consulted on the site at any time, in the Resources section. They give the programme to use and the rhythm of the sessions according to your situation.

Preparing a session, step by step

1
Check the chargeController and modules charged. A full charge covers several sessions.
2
Prepare the skinClean, dry, with no cream and no oil. This is what determines the quality of the contact.
3
Place the electrodesAt the position shown during the installation, flat, with the whole surface in contact with the skin.
4
Clip on the modulesOne module per pair of electrodes. They lock with a quarter turn.
5
Select the programmeThe one given in your protocol, on the site.
6
Raise the intensity to the maximum you can tolerateGo up step by step, and go as high as you can bear. The intensity is what makes the session effective: a contraction you barely feel does very little. You can keep raising it as the session goes on.

If you also have a Game Ready at home, run the Compex session first and the Game Ready after it, never the other way round.

During the session

What is normal

  • A muscle contraction that rises and falls in cycles.
  • A tingling under the electrodes when the session starts.
  • Mild muscle fatigue at the end of the session.

What should make you stop

  • Sharp pain under an electrode.
  • Marked redness that lasts after the session.
  • A burning sensation.

In any of these cases, stop the session, take the electrodes off and message us.

Safety: the rules that matter

  • Never place the electrodes on a wound, an unhealed scar or irritated skin.
  • Do not place electrodes over the heart, on the neck or on the head.
  • Do not use the device if you carry a pacemaker or any other implanted electronic device.
  • In case of pregnancy, epilepsy or impaired sensation, ask your doctor before using it.
  • Do not use the device while driving, in a bath or in the shower.
  • Follow the programme and the rhythm given in your protocol.

Looking after the device

After each session, unclip the modules and put the electrodes back on their plastic film, then into their pouch, closed. That is what keeps them working.

Recharge the controller and the modules in the charging case. Store everything in the bag, away from heat.

If something goes wrong

Our support is on WhatsApp. A technical question, a doubt about a placement, electrodes that no longer hold, a fault: that is the fastest way to reach us. We replace faulty equipment at your home, at no extra cost.

Giving the device back

Let us know 24 to 48 hours in advance, a message is enough, and we agree a collection slot. Put the controller, the modules and the electrodes back in the bag. We come and collect the set.

Many patients extend when physiotherapy steps up, because that is when the sessions are worth the most. A message is enough, and the extension needs no second delivery.
